EVE Frontier Cycle 3: Silent Tide Launches on Oct 15 with Major Gameplay Changes

EVE Frontier has officially revealed the start of Cycle 3: Silent Tide, launching on October 15 at 14:00 UTC. This new cycle introduces a host of gameplay changes, new features, and a reshaped roadmap for the game’s future. With a free trial running from October 17–27, players can jump in before the game’s major update lands on October 29.

Key Features of Cycle 3: Silent Tide

The upcoming update promises to reshape the way players build, craft, and survive in EVE Frontier. As Cycle 3 kicks off, players will once again experience a fresh start, gathering resources, constructing bases, and facing challenges in a reset world.

Free Trial Period (Oct 17–27)
From October 17 to 27, players—both returning and new—can take part in a free trial period. This gives everyone a chance to explore the game world before the major changes roll out in the full update on October 29.

Major Update on October 29
The heart of Cycle 3 drops on October 29, with significant gameplay changes. A fully redesigned Build Mode will give players the ability to place structures vertically and with greater precision. This allows for more flexible base-building, whether you're creating factories or defending fortresses. The new camera system also provides greater control, enabling fine-tuned placement for base design.

Continuous Industry System
One of the standout features in Cycle 3 is the revamped Industry system. Structures no longer rely on batch processing—players can now keep their machines running continuously as long as they are powered and supplied. This creates new challenges and deeper strategic opportunities as larger structures can handle more complex production chains.

Respawn Mechanics: Death and Rebirth
Cycle 3 introduces a new respawn system that lets players choose where they reawaken after death. This added control allows for more strategic planning, as players can decide whether to return to a safe location or dive straight back into the action.

New Exploration Sites, Ships, and PvP
Cycle 3 will feature two new exploration sites, each guarded by dormant threats that are only activated when provoked. Players will also have the chance to earn two new ships by participating in in-game events. These ships are not handed out freely—they must be earned through skill-based challenges.

Additionally, a limited-time prototype for WASD ship control will be tested in Cycle 3, giving players more control over their ships through keyboard inputs. The cycle will also introduce a new PvP tournament, allowing players to test their combat skills against one another.

Upcoming Changes and Roadmap
Along with the launch of Cycle 3, CCP Games has shared an updated roadmap for EVE Frontier. Beginning in December 2025, each cycle will span three months, with content drops and updates arriving at a faster pace. This shift will reduce progress wipes, helping players maintain more consistent advancement through the cycles.

Cycle Timeline:

  • Cycle 3: October 15, 2025

  • Cycle 4: December 2025

  • Cycle 5: March 2026

  • Cycle 6: June 2026

As Cycle 3 progresses, additional content will be rolled out, including changes to how players buy lenses for crude extraction and rebalancing of risk and reward across various exploration zones.

Looking Beyond Cycle 3: What's Next for EVE Frontier?
The upcoming Cycle 4 will deepen the base-building and survival elements of the game. Expect overhauled ship controls, a new character system, and early tests for cloning mechanics. Tribe-based base-building will also be introduced, encouraging shared construction and team-oriented play.

In Cycle 5 (March 2026), new scanning and signature systems will be added, allowing for stealth and detection gameplay. The combat loop will expand, introducing new tools for defense and recovery, while travel mechanics will undergo significant changes, providing more variety and depth.

EVE Frontier Joins the Sui Blockchain Network
In a separate update, CCP Games has confirmed that EVE Frontier will be migrating to the Sui blockchain. This move, supported by Mysten Labs, will allow each in-game item—whether ships, factories, or other assets—to exist as distinct objects with unique data and behavior. This change will create permanent, player-driven changes to the game world, aligning the game’s systems with the capabilities of blockchain technology.

The Sui network allows for faster, parallel transaction processing, ensuring that different players’ activities (building, trading, fighting) won’t interfere with one another. Event confirmations will happen in under a second, improving real-time gameplay synchronization.

What is EVE Frontier?
EVE Frontier is a space survival MMO developed by CCP Games, set in a fractured galaxy where players must rebuild civilization from scratch. Unlike EVE Online, which focuses on massive wars and trade empires, EVE Frontier puts players in the role of Riders—clones with no memory, trying to survive and thrive in a hostile world. With a mix of base-building, exploration, and survival mechanics, the game offers a deep sandbox experience where every item and structure has its own traits and history.

With each new Cycle, players face fresh challenges and opportunities, all within a constantly evolving universe. The game is also designed for moddability, allowing players to shape the world with their own creations, tools, and systems.

Join the Frontier
With Cycle 3: Silent Tide launching soon, EVE Frontier is inviting all players to step into its dynamic, ever-changing world. The free trial from October 17–27 is your chance to explore the universe before the big update arrives on October 29.
